All options are offered in an environment of your choosing, this may be in the comfort of your own home, classroom or place of employment.
Expert Tutor
Hi, I’m Joanne Robinson, crochet and knitting tutor and the driving force behind Affinity Crafts.
Former studio manager and tutor at a local crafting company and previously an early years educator, I have a wealth of experience teaching both children and adults. I have taught visually impaired adults and children with behavioural problems and autism. I have a love of all crafts, inspired by my nan, who taught me traditional knitting skills when I was a young girl. I enjoy making gifts for my family and friends. I have made many amigurumi toys for my children, knitted dresses, crocheted jackets, countless blankets using a range of different wools and techniques. I am also skilled in cross stitch, card craft and modeling clay too!

In addition to my tuition service, I also offer a range of handmade gifts available on my Etsy page. Each item is lovingly crafted by both myself and my crochet crazy daughter and can be customized to your preferences. We also consider commissions for personalised items. What’s your top tip for beginners?
Relax and enjoy yourself. You may not produce your best work on your first attempt, but with a little perseverance you will.
What do you enjoy most about crafting?
I particularly enjoy the challenge of a new skill learned and the satisfaction of a completed project. But nothing surpasses seeing the pleasure a personalized creation brings when gifted to a loved one.
What’s your favourite thing about teaching?
Seeing a customers pleasure at the successful completion of a project, knowing that I have done everything possible to nurture these new skills.
